R. I. S. E. Reaching Impacted Students Everywhere recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each child. We further recognize that in today's society there are a multitude of external distractions that directly impact how a young person perceives themselves. These distractions and resulting self perceptions can over shadow the best intentions of well meaning parents and ultimately place our youth down a path of unfulfilled dreams and poor self esteem. Our holistic approach to improving overall self esteem is incorporated into a host of offerings under our Supportive Educational Services (SES) Youth Program.
At R.I.S.E., we strive to rectify those negative perceptions by instilling confidence and a sense of purpose in each child. We give each child support and encouragement to become his or her own unique self; which is the first step toward realizing dreams that are otherwise diminished by poor self esteem and a general lack of hope.
R.I.S.E believes that in order to be successful in instilling positive thinking and achievement oriented youth, the winning formula MUST include a broad collaboration from multiple sources, the implementation of a systematic program aimed at self improvement and and immediate acknowledgement of efforts made to make desire positive change.
Mission Statement:
R.I.S.E. was created to dramatically increase the academic achievements, self esteem and the life opportunities of disadvantaged middle and grammar school students living in urban and rural under served communities by increasing their mastery of the skills of reading, writing and mathematics while helping our students to use critical thinking and problem solving skills to acheive academic success. Improving self worth is a direct by-product of academic and social acheivement. Our innovative approach through our SES program is designed to reward students from low- income families and underserved communities gain a sense that they can compete with anyone and are prepared to face the challenges of the twenty-first century with a stronger chance of success and personal fulfillment.
R.I.S.E. partners with the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition (GPUAC) as our fiscal advisor and sponsor. GPUAC is the premier collaborator of social services programs in the region. Their mission is to improve the quality of life in the greater Philadelphia region, build wealth in urban communities, and solve emerging issues. While our initial implementation will focus on the greater Philadelphia region, our market reach will expand to other markets based on need and resource allocation.
